Marydale Taylor

NSCC
Library Technician
Institute of Technology Campus
I've been passionate about books and reading for as far back as I can remember - to my Dad's deep voice reading The Cat in the Hat, when I was about 4 years old. I've been working in libraries, both public and academic, since 1997 - from Yarmouth to Yellowknife to Dartmouth and now Halifax.
Since coming to work for Nova Scotia Community College, I've worked as a Library Assistant at Burridge Campus in Yarmouth, and at Akerley Campus in Dartmouth, and now as a Library Technician at the Institute of Technology Campus in Halifax. My favourite part about working in libraries? The people! I've met and gotten acquainted with people from all over the world. I'm just barely a Baby-Boomer, sandwiched between my amazing parents, in their 90's, my two awesome daughters, and my four wonderful grandchildren.
When I'm not working, you might find me hanging out at the beautiful Halifax Central Library; working in my balcony garden at home in Dartmouth; or snuggling with my sweet ginger kitty, Quita (keeta).
My favourite book from childhood - On the Banks of Plum Creek, by Laura Ingalls Wilder. Favourite book from later in life - The Hatbox Letters, by Beth Powning.
